MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2006-001 JULY 05, 2006
TO : ALL CONCERNED
FROM : OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR
SUBJECT : INTERNATIONAL AND DISTRICT PROGRAM LY 2006- 2007
District 301-B has been the envy of all districts in Multiple District 301 Philippines. This is because we have the biggest membership in the entire country. We have more clubs in our area compared to the rest of the six districts. But now, though we may not be the last on the list we are however a poor second. Our district used to have 2,400 members and 89 clubs. Now, we only have 1,700 members and 62 clubs.
We have to REBUILD District 301-B. We have to recruit more members and organize more clubs. The more members we recruit and the more clubs we organize, the more service we can provide for our less fortunate brothers and sisters. We will organize new clubs in areas where there are no Lions Clubs, so that we can expand our services not only in the city but in the country side as well.
The International theme for this lion year is simply WE SERVE. This means going back to the basic. The highlights of the International program of PRESIDENT JIMMY ROSS is focused on the chartering of new clubs, recruiting of more members, developing leaders and helping the Lions Clubs International Foundation by enrolling Melvin Jones Fellows.
In line with the International program, my District Goal this Lion Year 2006-2007 is to organize at least 10 Lions Clubs especially in remote areas. Invite at least 300 members to our organization and enroll at least 30 lions to become a Melvin Jones Fellow or a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. We will also focus on training our future leaders by way of leadership training and workshop. I will also focus my efforts to all service projects of our organization.
I need the support of each and every Lion to achieve this goal. Together we can make a difference. We serve.
Mabuhay and more power to all!
SGD.
